Editorial Policy and Publishing Standards
Everything we publish — service pages, articles, guides, reports and training material — is produced under a fixed set of editorial rules. This page explains who writes our content, how we verify it, how we handle corrections, and how our commercial relationships are disclosed.
In short: our content is written only by named, experienced in-house consultants; it rests on sustainability regulation, international frameworks such as GRI, the CSRD and the ESRS, and primary sources. We publish no sponsored content. When we find an error, the page is updated with a visible correction note. Every author appears with a public biography on our authors page and in the team section.
1. Who writes our content
Our articles, service pages, report content and training material are published only by our own consultants, signed with a name and a job title. Our authors are:
- Hakan Karan — Chief Impact Officer. More than twenty years of field experience in sustainability consulting, ESG strategy, reporting and social impact.
- Begüm Karan — Chief Value Officer. Corporate value creation, the integration of brand and sustainability strategy, and stakeholder communication.
- Bahar Tömek — Chief Transformation Officer. Corporate transformation, women-focused programmes and DEI strategy.
- Dr. Burçak Erdoğan Onur — Chief Sustainability Officer. Environmental and social performance, climate action, biodiversity and value chain management.
Short profiles and links are collected on the authors page. Every article carries an author card with a link to that author's public profile, and every corporate service page is signed by the lead consultant for that area.
Do we accept guest authors? Not at present. If we start publishing guest contributions, each one will be clearly labelled as a guest article and the author's corporate affiliations will be declared.
2. How we verify information
Every published page goes through at least two stages:
- Technical verification: regulatory references (the EU CSRD and ESRS, GRI Standards, ISSB, SASB, TCFD, TSRS as issued by the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority (KGK), and others) and all figures are confirmed against the primary source — the issuing body's own publication or database.
- Editorial review: at least one other senior team member reads the draft and assesses it for misleading statements, missing context and impartiality.
In content that falls into the YMYL category — finance, compliance, investor relations, environmental risk — each claim is matched to a source. Estimates, opinions and forecasts are labelled as such ("in our view", "in our experience", "we expect").
3. Corrections and updates
When we find a material error in a page — a wrong figure, a misattributed rule, a superseded standard, a misread source — we update it in one of two ways:
- Minor corrections (spelling, wording): marked at the foot of the page as a dated "Last updated" note.
- Substantive corrections (a change to data or to a claim): a "Correction — [date]" box is added in a visible position on the page, stating both the original incorrect wording and the corrected version. The
dateModifiedvalue in the page schema is updated.
Content that has aged because of a change in regulation, a new version of a standard or a market development is reviewed regularly; evergreen pages are revised every three to six months.
4. Impartiality and independence
Etki Fabrikası is an independent consultancy. We are not an official representative of any standard setter (GRI, ISSB, CDP and so on), so we have no commercial reason to present one standard as superior to another. We recommend the framework that fits a company's situation.
We do not publish content praising a particular supplier, software product or service. Where we write about our own group brands — yesilkariyer.net, sustainside.com and work-wild.com — that corporate relationship is stated openly in the text.
5. Commercial relationships, sponsorship and advertising
We do not publish sponsored content. Etki Fabrikası is a B2B corporate sustainability consultancy; this site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no third-party paid articles.
When we publish a case study about a client project — for example the Derimod Sustainable Fashion Entrepreneurship Hub — it is prepared with the client's approval, but it is not advertising: it is a public professional reference. In any content that names a client, shows a client logo or describes a client project, the consulting relationship between Etki Fabrikası and that organisation is disclosed.
6. Sources and citation
For external data and claims we use, and cite, the following sources:
- International standard setters: GRI Standards, ISSB and IFRS, CDP, TCFD, SBTi, SASB
- European Union regulation: CSRD, ESRS, CBAM, the EU Taxonomy
- Turkish regulation: KGK announcements on TSRS and the relevant texts in the Official Gazette
- International institutions: UN Global Compact, UNEP, IEA, IPCC, World Bank, EBRD, IFC
- Academic and sector research: peer-reviewed journals and the annual sustainability publications of Deloitte, McKinsey, BCG, KPMG, PwC and EY
For every numerical claim, the source URL is either embedded in the relevant passage or listed at the end of the page.
7. Use of artificial intelligence
We use AI tools only for supporting tasks: preliminary research compilation, translation checking, spelling and grammar. No published content is automatically generated by AI; every article reflects the thinking, field experience and judgement of the consultant who signs it. No figure or claim produced by an AI tool is published before a person has verified it against a source.
8. Confidentiality and client privacy
We never use commercial, financial or personal data obtained during client projects openly in any content. Before publishing a case study we obtain the client's written approval, and sensitive operational information is anonymised.
9. Feedback, correction requests and contact
If you have spotted an error in our content, or want to request a correction or additional information:
- Email: [email protected] (subject line: "Editorial correction request")
- Phone: +90 541 331 41 34
- Post: Nisbetiye Cad. No: 24/17 Etiler, İstanbul, Türkiye
We assess all reasonable feedback within five working days, and any correction we accept is reflected on the page as an open correction note.
